PAYING THE HOMELESS FOR BROWN — The headline on this Boston Herald piece,“’Obama Supporters for Brown’ Courts Black Vote” looks innocuous at first glance — an effort to highlight Sen. Scott Brown’s crossover appeal. Except very quickly, the meat of the story reveals that Massachusetts Republicans are paying the homeless to sport bright blue T-shirts and promote his candidacy against Democrat Elizabeth Warren. The newspaper reports participants receive roughly $8 an hour to cover “transportation, child care and other costs.” Brown’s campaign isn’t commenting on the seemingly unseemly payments.
