(17,797 posts)They come in a few varieties, I've felt 3 different types:
1) first one was a Mag.4.2 "Roller" where it felt like the house had suddenly been transformed in to a small boat on a rolling sea, that was the most fun.
2) Was a Drop. Felt like someone just picked up the house and dropped it back down in one big "Clunk."
The top two were in California
3) The 3rd one I felt was in St. Louis and it was a vibrator/shaker type, felt like a big truck was driving down the street outside the front door.
Was it like any of those?

(36,223 posts)The house was shaking, but my legs felt wobbly like the floor was rolling.
Make sense?

My cat was in the stairwell hiding so I figured we were in for some thunder. He's a weather predictor that way.
Next thing, the computer hutch is shaking, doors a bangin' and ... sound like a whoosh. I think it lasted about 8 seconds.
In Mass. near Boston.

(10,749 posts)I felt it too. Not much. Just a little thump. I thought it was the cats jumping onto the floor, but my daughter felt the kitchen table shake. Hey, it's ain't southern California, but it was an earthquake.
