Candy is going to ask about Benghazi tonight, Let's see how close I am to predicting the verbiage

"President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last night said the buck stops with her and takes responsibility in regards to the attacks that happened on our consulate in Benghazi. Is she correct in saying the responsibility stops with her or does it stop at the White House. And do you believe she is still qualified in her position as Secretary of State?"

It might as well be Wolf Blitzer up there.

so if the public asks about Benghazi (which will shock me, that is like fureing), comes up, blame the public for that one.

She is also getting a conversation from the Presidential debate commission, as she should NOT ask any follow ups. So if she asks a follow up on Benghazi she will be violating the standards both candidates agreed to. (That said the O team has said they are expecting that)

1,- You are admitting the question IS COMING from the public by the way you phrased it. GOOD.

2.- How many debates under similar rules have you attended? I must admit, the one in Ramona shocked me, made me chuckle et al, it involved dark helicopters and the UN, but that came straight from the horses mouth. Aka the attendee who asked it of the candidates.

Now debate number one or number three, those are questions written by the moderators.

There are days I really wonder about this place.

If Benghazi comes up, I will be surprised... to be honest. Most americans don't know about Benghazi let alone find it on a map, and truly could care less about it.

We are, in this place, rare in that respect.

Look, I particularly do not think she was a good choice. There are plenty of better choices, and less partisan too. A good reporter, you will never know their actual views (for the record, I have succeeded in that line locally)... and Crowley is a Neocon. But if the question comes up, IT CAME FROM THE PUBLIC.

And as I said, I will be surprised and shocked... hell, last similar one we had two wars raging and they mostly did not come up.

"came from the public"

A real town hall would be randomly selecting people from the crowd to ask a question. Here they are having hundreds (thousand?) people all write questions and then they get to "pick" which ones will be asked.

Just by the numbers alone she is going to get to select all the questions she needs to swing the debate however is wanted.

13. At the Santee debate they had the public write the questions

and the League of Women Voters, who moderated it, chose them at random.

It is a standard "debate, town hall" setup.

The same thing happened at any other debate, candidate forum the League moderates in this town. They are using that format.

She doesn't ask the questions. Now, she might find a way to follow up on something but I think the Obama administration has set up an opportunity for the president by having Hillary come out and say what she did on the day before the debate. I expect President Obama to bring things up somehow and have a response or a cogent comment at hand. We'll see.

I am sure a reporter will ask something similar soon, if this lasts as long as the GOP expects it to (which means it will be a dead issue within a week... Ben WHAT?)

That seems a very un-progressive, shallow and stupid thing to say. Make fun of her weight rather than remark on her abilities or competency? I'll pass.

Tue Oct 16, 2012, 01:24 PM
Oct 2012

The repig moderator will read the chosen questions to herself, and then reword them when she asks them.

Obama's questions will follow the format "Mr. Obama, why is your policy on __________ such a failure?"

Her questions to Flip-Flopper will be: "Esteemed Governor Romney, why are your ideas on _____________ so much better than that other guy?"
