and I have a really hard time accepting republicanism in friends and family, so many of whom have benefited throughout their lives by liberal policies

My family is largely made up of racist bigots in SW PA and Southern Alabama, and I've removed myself from them for the most part.

Seeing the entrenched racism in the younger generation sent me over the edge. It's still more prevalent than many people realize. The bad thing is, since the election of President Obama, right-wingers like Limbaugh have convinced people they aren't racist. They say only the Democrats are racist.

Oy vey...

I know it's useless to deal with a certain portion of right-wingers today, but I struggle with giving up on young people, yet I also don't know how to deal with it effectively. Really upsetting.
