as the blast-fax-equivalent of today's media, they are on the warpath to defeat the President. they are arguably worse than Fox, because they are squandering their bullshit-reputation for "fairness" to pump the meme that their candidate is on the big move and is the greatest thing to come along since sliced bread. Never mind all the issues which surround this Rethug ticket - forget about those. this is a monomania by the Right to destroy America as we know it.
These people are teaching me how to hate. Really hate, like Barbara Bush really knows how to hate (according to Nixon).

The show is a joke. Turn. It. Off.

(4,340 posts)then there's something else going on. In retrospect, does ANYONE even remember what Romney said at the first debate? Paul Ryan at the second debate? Seriously, Romney hasn't changed a thing about himself, his personality, his campaign. Nothing's changed and there's nothing to explain his so-called "surge". The only thing that makes sense to me is media manipulation. Unfortunately, even though it's morally wrong, it's still real and we have to deal with it.

(14,549 posts)The really mind blowing thing to me is that people on Right distrust the media more than those on the Left. It is catering, pandering, spoon feeding them and they have far more distrust of the media than we do.

(1,828 posts)Because I actually agree with them. The media wants ratings. I fully expect the line tonight to be, "Obama did what he had to do tonight, and he's right back in it! It will all come down to the last debate, so don't miss it!"
OTOH, those right-wingers whining the media wants a comeback story are too dumb to realize the media is responsible for Mitt's comeback story, too. They think that was real momentum, and Obama's "comeback" is a manipulated one.
God, so much stupid. It's hard to keep up.

(7,728 posts)the liberal media. It's propaganda. Many actually do buy it, of course, the dildoheads and wingnuts, but the GOP elite know it's propaganda. It's why they get tied up in knots and contradictions when they cite "liberal" media when it's favorable for them. Anytime I hear anyone claim the "liberal media" thing, I shut it down as the conspiracy propaganda lie that it is.

(5,290 posts)for these fucks. Their sycophantic, ass-sucking, corporate media spin is causing me to hate them and this fucking country. My hatred of this country due to the fact that shit like this goes on, and we do nothing about it. So fucking help me, if this asshole wins the election, my wife and I are DONE. Next stop, Canada, then eventually somewhere in Europe. The sheer level of stupidity is getting to be too much to take for either of us.

I'd move in a heartbeat, but I doubt Canada needs marketing/public relations people.

(5,842 posts)Since the primary season ended though it's become a daily 3 hour commercial for Romney, his various campaign surrogates and Joe's big-boy crush on Scott Walker and Chris Christie.
Other than her daily health-police diatribe Mika now basically serves as a potted plant while the rest of the regular contributors either agree with Joe or struggle to get their opposing viewpoint in over Joe's constant interruptions.
I have a feeling that this show will be on life-support should Romney win since anyone who wants to watch a non-stop Romney love-fest from 6-9 a.m. will just turn on Fox and Friends.

(1,362 posts)Here's the definition of propaganda on wikipedia, just replace "propaganda" with "MSM" and see how well it fits:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda
---Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes.
As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political or religious agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.---

(982 posts)A lot of people think they are just trying to keep it a horse race, and they will let Obama win tonight....but I think they have to go all out for Romney, because if people stop and think about what he he stands for for one minute, their whole charade of Americans love Romney is over.
They are in a full out effort to manufacture consent to steal the election, they can't even afford a horse race. It's all Romney all of the time.
