The Fact That OWS Was So Brutally Put Down And ----

present demonstrators are being brutalized is making me believe that we are already in a police state. I am seeing so many reports about brutality that the press is hiding. I guess the police will be happy when the rich take their pensions.

who was so paranoid over a bunch of scruffy college kids that he started to militarize local police departments to get around Posse Comitatus when those scruffy college kids started the revolution.

Never mind they were kids, as hamfisted as kids are at that age, and had neither the wherewithal, the tactical knowledge nor the broad public support to do anything of the kind. Nixon was paranoid and paranoia never makes sense.

So if you don't like living in a totalitarian country, thank the Republicans. They've been working at it for 40 years.

In this type of society, you don't have citizens. Instead you have shareholders and subjects. The shareholders are the super-rich donor types that Romney talks policy with behind closed doors. The subjects are the rest of us....the people in Illinois whose jobs are getting outsourced to China courtesy of Bain Capital.

I went to a number of demonstrations when Bush was President. I never saw any brutality. Nor in the protest about Bradley Manning that I observed.

Myself, I thought, and said, that OWS needed to do something more, something different than trying to be a semi-permanent campout.

that people should know about it. Over 7,400 Occupiers have been arrested to date. For protesting problems and demanding solutions.

October 25 is a good example. Occupy Oakland marches then in remembrance of the police riot against them, in which peaceful Veteran Scott Olsen was shot in the head with a rubber bullet, very nearly killing him, and because those who ran to his fallen body (police just stood there) were hit with one or more flash-bang packs. Oakland "authorities" said in writing that they didn't use rubber bullets or flash bangs, that the protesters were throwing M-80s. Video clearly reveals police using all the above. Later that week, another Vet just on his way home was caught up in another OPD riot against Occupy and nearly died in jail from a police beating. If you want blood, search "Roumanian". He was smashed up by NYPD. Searching DU or the web should reveal much.
