For seniors...says the plan they critiqued is not his plan. Yet, he refuses to reveal any specifics on his plan:

(653 posts)Romney claims that the steps he's taking are to rescue Medicare from going bankrupt. In going to a voucher system that limits the increases to voucher payments by 1% annually - well below the typical increases in health care costs, Romney claims that he's saving the government money. Romney is doing nothing to reduce the costs of Medicare like Obama's $716 billion effort did - and Romney's stopping that effort. So if Romney is saving the government money, and the costs of Medicare aren't reduced because Romney does nothing else about that in his plan, someone else is paying the freight: those that buy the vouchers.
Again, simple math and logic exposes who has to pick up Romney's tab for Medicare. Hopefully, Obama can make that point in the debate.

(604 posts)It is to massively reduce the $100bn+ p.a. medicare fraud.
It is to reduce the drug costs agreed by the government with big pharma.
It is to stop the massive legal liabilities and consequent massive medical practitioner insurance costs.
It is to stop big food, poisoning the people and making them ill (see the disastrous results of Poland joining the big food system upon joining the EU).
It is to promote competition between healthcare providers, this needs to be across state lines but instituted at state level in all states.
If some stupid GOP states don't want to provide competitive healthcare services - it will be their loss, people will go and live elsewhere.
It is to stop companies like Bain Capital exploiting people over healthcare costs and Mike Leavitt (Romney's head of transition) doing the same.
All of these measures would reduce overall spending on healthcare - the US is the costliest provider of healthcare in the world.
It would make good healthcare more AFFORDABLE for everyone.
Obamacare is a boon to large corporations like Bain Capital - that is why Mitt Romney has always been in favor of it.
Don't believe the media hype on this one.
There are multiple examples.
They are on my blog.
