Hmmm, I just remember hearing something about him and remembering when he did that first orbit thing and watching him at school.

I heard him speak in support of Kerry for President in Columbus, Ohio '04. He was 83 then. Now he's 91 and still going strong.

He and Scott Carpenter are the last surviving Mercury 7 astronauts.
