(1,805 posts)I was getting concerned. Though we can't get complacent, that's for sure. The next debate will be interesting - jeez, I'd hate to have such pressure to do well. So much at stake.
OTOH, I still find it hard to believe that there are people that haven't made up their mind. Shit, it's like night and day, how hard can it be?

(671 posts)Yesterday afternoon, President Obama took a short break from debate prep to deliver some pizzas and work the phones at the Obama campaign's Williamsburg, VA field office. Good stuff, added on top of some better polling numbers (including this morning's from the Washington Post, which has Obama up 7 points among RVs, 3 points among LVs nationally).

(9,385 posts)Discount that, and the other known right wing polls, and the real picture is probably pretty good.

(17 posts)My fear is that we (and President Obama) will let up with any uptick in the polls. The time to let up is AFTER election day when the battle is won.

(22 posts)They sure show just how duped, low-brow and/or just plain stupid half of this country is. I guess senility and religious ideology play a big hand too.
NPR this morning was talking about how 90% of the TV ads run so far by Obama have been funded directly by the campaign via donations of $9000 or less. Mitten's were provided more than 2:1 by 4 of the giant SuperPACs with donations reaching up to $10,000,000. You would think this would sum it up for all the "low-information" idiots, I mean voters out there. I guess they've been so conditioned to think that the rich know what's best for the other 95% of the country?

(10,611 posts)The initiative to sell liquor in retail stores passed after they tried and failed previously.
With no state liquor control board, people are now paying MORE for liquor because of all the markups. But the LIVs were programmed to think "Government bad! Taxes bad!", so the dummies voted against their own interests and screwed it up for everyone.
Just a hint of more to come if the ignorant keep going to the polls.
