I really don't get Papa John's Pizza CEO,

First, he comes out and says he's going to have to raise the price of his pizzas (by like a whopping $0.14, or something else ridiculously low) because of the ACA. Well, I'm more than willing to pay $0.14 more if his employees actually get Health Insurance!

But THEN he puts out a commercial with Peyton Manning that they're giving away 2 MILLION pizzas - for FREE!

WTF?

He's a one percenter...

if congress just happened to (not likely) raise the min wage by a mere .50 cents an hour, this
guy would probaby roll around on the floor, kick his legs wildly and scream this will put
Papa John's into bankruptcy court.

FAIL.

use the finest ingredients too....2 large pizza's cost me $12.00..

I use fresh mozzarella, Boars Head pepperoni, King Arthur's Flour...grow my own basil, garlic, make my own sauce from fresh tomatoes....This retail essentially...

Buying in volume....cheaper...so Papa is definitely posturing and pandering.

Trailing 12 months their profit margin is 4.65%. That means for every dollar thru the register they make a little under a nickle.

Afaik no retailer (except maybe walmart) in the US makes a high net margin. Its the manufactures that make bank, like colgate palmolive, unilever, glazo wellcome, kelloggs, apple, cisco, etc.

Fayettenam, N.C., has Dominos, Pizza Hut and Papa John's - no local joints. If you want pizza, Papa John's is your best choice.

I'm glad he's being required to do it. Since work is the normal place for Americans to recieve healthcare coverage, it's perfectly normal to require it that way. But giving away the pizzas to raise his company's profile isn't really part of the equation here. It's just a promotion stunt.

Papa John's is a franchised operation. People pay him for the rights to the name, buy supplies from his authorized suppliers and operate under his rules.

And yes, these pizzas are a deductible advertising expense.

Buy from local mom and pop pizza shops that don't wear their politics on their sleeves, and if they do, their politics are progressive. I am lucky, I have two shops near me that meet the enlightened category, they get all of my fast food and dining out money. Don't worry about the papa joe employees, they will find jobs with companies that appreciate them, they likely are already looking.

But that was years ago. As companies get bigger, they get cheaper. Look at DELL. Their computers pioneered a new era of home computers. Then only a couple years later they are using sweat shop labor generic parts and treat their customers like shit. I wish the DoD would kill the contract with them.

I'm an ASUS guy anyways

EDIT: And don't get me started on Pizza Hut. Their dough is frozen and shipped in boxes at preset sizes. You can literally break a frozen pie into a few sharp pieces and use them as shanks.

You know that evil federal government my man Romney is about to decimate? (Play stills taken in the Depression to illustrate.)

According to the IRS, advertising (pan across massive display of Papa Johns tearsheets, coupons and advertising reels) is a deductible expense.

According to our lawyer, givin' away free pizzas counts as advertising. So we figured, if Romney gets elected he'll kill that deduction so he can afford to cut my personal tax rate (picture of John's castle) to absolutely nothin', so we better do this now. And where does the money to pay for this deduction come from? Higher taxes on wages and salaries!

So call this number (your local franchisee's order line) and get you a pizza you already paid for!

doctor them up and pop them in the oven. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying Papa Johns and more convenient too!

Digiorno's is our favorite!
