He could lose Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado, New Hampshire and one of Iowa or Nevada and still win this thing.
I like Obama's odds. He's never been down in Wisconsin or Iowa, and has been generally up by decent margins in Ohio and Nevada.
Plus, he can lose the "Big 4" (OH, FL, NC, VA) and still win if he wins NH, IA, CO, NV, and WI, all states he's been up in all year.
Please keep this in mind before freaking out. This thing is far from over. It's still leaning in Obama's favor, really.

I'm asking what if Obama looses Ohio? Can we still win?

(12,368 posts)damn...embedded republicans, everywhere, every corner....totally clueless to the issues of course, don't know they are supporting the henchman....they are foxx news minions....It's depressing.
That said...there are many, many Democrats here too; we just can't do it alone, staying close, under the radar of the aggressive, opinionated teabagger types....in this repug bee hive area of Ohio.

(54,013 posts)(and really, North Carolina doesn't really matter in this case) then it will be a result of Obama having some kind of trouble that will translate into losses in other swing states as well. These things don't happen in a vacuum, after all.
The good news is that Obama needs only win one of those three states and then he should be okay. I agree it's still Obama's to lose. But that pitiful debate performance was some real damage to the campaign. He needs to be a lot more aggressive. He doesn't need to "win" the arguments--he just needs to highlight what a bad bunch of ideas Romney is campaigning under.

It boils down to Ohio. Mitt won't win without it.
To take it a step further, it is the women in Ohio.
If you are a woman in Ohio, your influence is incredibly magnified.

(54,013 posts)If Obama gets any one of those three states, he wins. If Romney wins all three, there's no way he wouldn't have already won Iowa and Colorado, so your scenario doesn't quite pan out.
I would agree about Ohio, except that serious suppression voter efforts are going on there. Obama will have to win over a solid quarter million voters more than Romney in Ohio (out of the expected 6 million) in order to make sure he gets a majority of the votes that actually end up being counted.
It's doable, but it needs to be THE priority of this election.
