We are all going to go to the mall, have lunch then all go have abortions

said no one ever.

I have known women who have had abortions and it was the most agonizing choice the ever had to make. It is just another example of a lack of respect for women to think anyone would take that kind of choice lightly.

who almost killed herself because of being pregnant at 16 yrs - she was lucky in that she had the support of her parents and friends and had an abortion. That girl came back to work sad, but wiser - today she is the happy mother of a beautiful little boy and expecting another child soon.

Robyn66 you are correct the choice was not taken lightly at all - and thanks to her making the right choice - there is a very happy family living together today.

carries the scars of what they HAD to do to this day. But thank god they had a safe and legal place to have it done because I fear at least some of them may have gone to desparate measures and may not be here today. Not only does this procedure need to be kept safe and legal but there SHOULD be federal funding to support it. I dont agree with my tax dollars paying for war-but I have no say, so the anti-choice-ers should shut up and deal.

not only would they be federally funded, but so would anesthesia. Instead, women who can't afford to pay for anesthesia have to have it done wide awake with local pain killers (still expensive). If men had to get a shot up their penis in order to numb the pain before having a surgery that is done by knocking you out when it's not "elective", we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Sorry to be so graphic, but it seems if we aren't, no one even knows. I've taken too many women for an abortion to pretend it's an easy choice and/or procedure for anyone. We need more female representatives.

and the next day, she found out she had cancer.

Her husband was heartbroken and fell apart. So I went with her when she had her abortion. Held her hand and stayed with her until her mom arrived from out of town to take care of her.

I had been against abortion until then. But the entire time, I kept thinking - - - a year ago, she would have died.

I've been rabidly pro-choice ever since.
