Issa is right, we could have exact numbers of unemployed each month

All we would have to do is require each business to each month fill out a form stating exactly how many employees they have and how many hours they work. If we had no exceptions even for sole proprietorships then we would have exact numbers. Somehow I doubt he would go for this.

It doesn't necessarily include self-employed, and neglects the fact that we only know the actual population of the US every 10 years, sort of, thanks to the census. You could never derive an "exact" number, unless our definitions of "exact" differ.

you are right about that not leading to an exact rate though but it would give an exact number of employees. But it would also be ridiculous.

Since it would double-count people with multiple part time jobs.

How about we stick a GPS up everyone's ass and see what they do all month.

but it would tell us how many jobs we have each month etc. Those are where the revisions are and have been.

report 1st, 15th, 25th? It changes.
Report pt. seasonal, how? etc
database entries and tabulating would be a nightmare...can't upload directly to the system for security
Believe it or not, some businesses fly under the radar.
Business owners are generally anti gov't and will simply not provide the data
Who is going to enforce?
how does 60% or more of non compliant businesses glean accurate results?
Issa and The Reps have ensured that businesses have a distrust and disregard to Gov't
Issa is an idiot.

or for that matter that business would like to do it, but it would be possible. The fact is we have statistics for precisely the reason that taking a census every month would be absurd.
