I don't care which side does it, but people need to be going to jail for a long time and fined to the heavens. The fact that the same players keep doing the same slimy things under different names is unconscionable to me. The voting process needs to be open and fair and let the chips fall where they may.
Who's with me on this?

(5,103 posts)When lives have been lost at home and abroad, all in the quest for open, democratic voting rights, then the penalty for willfully attempting or causing more than a single vote to change or be discarded, shall be death!
We cannot slap the wrist for an offense which America holds as a core value of our Republic.
It's that important!

(26 posts)There should be huge jail time for this!!! No if's or but's about it!!
Maybe then whomever chooses to do this goes away for a long time!!!

Essentially it's treason against our democracy. Punish treason with death.

(211 posts)...Or, you know, just execute them/imprison them for life. That works too. Brand them as traitors to boot. Voting is what democracy is all about. If anyone tries to mess with that process, then they obviously hate the essence of the United States. Or they're excessively ambitious idiots. Either way, the world would be better off without them.

(211 posts)I'd actually prefer if they were locked up for life (or a very long time.) But, for those states that are gung-ho about executions, "traitors" and "taking crimes seriously" usually mean death and it would be difficult to convince them otherwise.
That was why I mentioned execution at all, even though I don't really support it either.

(81,383 posts)They yammer on about how they're so "law and order."
Let's sic the law and order on them!
What I'd like to see is some devious Dems getting into office. I'd like to see them huddle together in private and figure out how to get around everything they're trying to do to subvert what we've tried to build. Like, what kind of language could we be using in new bills or amendments - that maybe the bad guys won't be totally alert about until it's too late and the bill is voted in?
How about OUR loading up their cockamamie 13th-Century ideas with all kinds of amendments that make it impossible for them to vote for it? Like, every time they put forth an anti-choice bill or try to otherwise screw Planned Parenthood or further crimp access to abortion or something - slip in an amendment calling for taxing the churches and religious institutions for politicking. Or leveling a surtax on every five million dollar increment in income. Or cementing the separation of church and state into some sort of sneaky-but-permanent status. Or mandating tit-for-tat - ANY HEALTH ISSUE OR MEDICATION that men can get for their dicks or their prostate is tied directly to women's equally-easy access to birth control. Or - if you want this, then it has to be illegal for pharmacists to refuse to fill some prescription because they have some stupid-ass lame religion issue!
I think we need a double-secret-probation task force of the most trusted Dems to figure out stealth tactics to thwart the bad guys' agenda and further our own. Yeah, I'm talking about fighting dirty. ABSO-FUCKIN-LUTELY!!!!!! You better believe I'm talking about fighting dirty. As long as they do, WE HAVE TO. Trying to cooperate with them hasn't worked. Trying to reach out to them hasn't worked. Trying to find common ground with them hasn't worked. Trying to offer compromises hasn't worked. Let's try something else. I'd recommend ball-twisting (since most of them are men).

We have the nerve to criticize third-world dictatorships and look at what's happening in our own country, with the collusion of our own citizens (GOPTP)!
