Mitt Romney: Bully and phony
When describing Romney to friends and acquaintances I almost invariably use the words bully and phony. That he's a bully is obvious from his public persona-- he is riding that characteristic to claim the mantle of strong leader, but a strong leader rarely has to be a bully-- think of Gary Cooper in the films of the 40s and 50s. Few Presidents were actually bullies (the only one I can think of was LBJ, but he didn't show that side to the public very often-- he used this personality trait on other politicians). That he's a liar is easy enough to prove, but people think all politicians are liars, so I find phony to be more effective, since he panders to whoever he is talking with like Eddie Haskell in "Leave it to Beaver", and it captures his personality pretty well. Does he really care about you the undecided voter? My answer, the same way Eddie Haskell cared about Theodore and Wallace in front of their parents.
