My perspective on the polls.

It appears to me that the race has gotten much closer. But nobody really thought Obama was going to win in a landslide, did they?

The last debate did have some impact on the race. I do not think Obama lost very much ground, if any at all. Perhaps 1% or 2% at the most? These voters were the low-info "independent" voters, in my opinion.

And they could change again on a dime. They are not predictable. They simply want to vote for the winner.

Once Romney is more clearly defined, I expect the "independents" to leave him once again. I expect the President to regain the 1% or 2% he lost in the last debate. The Independents in Colorado and Virginia are a special breed. They require a little more persuasion. If the President regains the lead in the polls in those two states, I will be much relieved going into election day.

Reality is coming back on the Republicans for a second visit. This time, it will stay for a while.

I heard it on MSNBC, I heard it on DU, I heard it on CNN.

Apparently it wasn't over.
