Mozilla Firefox browser upgrade taken offline due to vulnerability

The latest version of Mozilla's Firefox browser has been taken offline after a security vulnerability was discovered.

Users who had upgraded to version 16 were advised to downgrade to the previous safe release until Firefox developers released a fix.

The vulnerability allowed "a malicious site to potentially determine which websites users have visited", Mozilla said.
...
He added that no users had been upgraded automatically to the new version.

Just in case there's anyone here who rushes to upgrade the moment a new version come out.

FFox inability to play "nice" with newest Flash the final nail for me.

The problem I have now, though, is Constant Guard virus software crashes constantly with Chrome.

Coincidentally, Windows just restarted without my ok to install updates. I know I had that set to manual . . .

It's doing okay on my desktop, but it makes my old laptop almost unusable at times. This crap started around Ver. 11. Not that Chrome is a whole lot better. I get frequent script errors with Chrome, too.

Perhaps it's my settings.

With all these updates they keep throwing out there, how about one that doesn't eat up as much RAM, freeze up and gets constant script errors?

Update (Oct 11, 2012)

An update to Firefox for Windows, Mac and Linux was released at 12pm PT on Oct 11. Users will be automatically updated and new downloads via http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/ will receive the updated version. A fix for the Android version of Firefox was released at 9pm PT on Oct 10.

Thanks, guys. Now do you think you could fix the freezing and crashing problems, pretty please?
