Poor little Paul Ryan...

don't you feel sorry for him having to face the terrible old mean Joe Biden. *gasp* It's like being frogmarched to the principal's office to explain. He's might get his head bit off. Paul's never done this grown up stuff called "debating" before. He's only stood on the playground and taunted lower class kids or bullied them for their lunch money. He never had to stand in front of the class to defend his punkish behavior or the lies he's told. He's going to try the same bull he pulls on his uncles and aunties with dad smiling proudly on. Yes, that's Mitt's boy--can talk out of both sides of his mouth at the same time while trying to look innocent and naive.

Principle Joe is going to school him.

we're not putting too great of expectations on Biden the way we did President Obama. I hoped he would eat Rmoney's lunch
but instead he folded. Here's hoping Biden doesn't get intimidated and be super-soft the way he was with Palin.

He comes off as reasonable, because he never gets specific. "We're going to shore up SS/medicare and keep it safe" HOW?

Maybe that's the tactic. "Mr. Ryan says hes ging to help SS, how? How? There are zero specifics - except to turn medicare into a voucher, and raise the retirement age - is that all you've got?" "Our president will do the following:....."

I'm nervous, because Biden needs to be 100%, and Ryan needs to be 75-80% for it to be a tie.

They got ZERO blow back from Ryans convention speech. Except here and other wonky sites.

so much from Biden's performance that we're apt to be disappointed. I remember that his performance with Palin wasn't outstanding (for whatever reason), and Ryan, although he is a colossal asshole isn't stupid. He's going to be well prepared for the debate and may find a way to 'handle' Joe. I sincerely hope not but...

Ryan has an overly inflated sense of self-importance and a huge fund of disdain for a whole lot of us who he considers to be his moral and social inferiors. He's going to trip over his own ego in the end. He is so certain that he has all the answers for all the problems in the economy and society and he's had that belief stoked now for several years in the bubble.

Back in 2004, I had these high hopes that John Edwards, this great trial lawyer was gonna mop the floor with Dick Cheney. I turned the TV off in disgust after about twenty minutes as he seemed to be getting slaughtered.

I did not watch the debates four years ago, but I don't remember a huge victory for Joe even against a lightweight like Sarah Palin.

I expect/dread a good performance from Ryan. He's glib and confident and articulate and will be well coached.

Ryan has been in public office since he was 28 years old. He knows his way around a debate. This persona that he's putting on, with the assistance of Romney and the media, is disgusting.
