Poll: Despite debate loss, Obama maintains lead in Pa.
By Thomas Fitzgerald
President Obama maintains a healthy lead in Pennsylvania less than a month before the election, even though most voters believe he lost last week's debate decisively to Republican Mitt Romney, according to the latest Inquirer Pennsylvania Poll.
Obama was the choice of 50 percent of likely voters to 42 percent for Romney in the survey by a bipartisan team of pollsters - a narrowing of the president's lead by 3 percentage points compared with the newspaper's September poll, taken following the two national political conventions.
<...>
Obama leads among women, 55 to 37 percent, the poll found, while Romney holds a 48 to 43 percent edge among men.
<...>
In addition to women, the new Pennsylvania poll finds Obama running strongest among young voters, those over 65, and those with a college education. Geographically, the president leads by 27 points in the five-county area that includes Philadelphia and its suburbs: 58 percent to 31 percent for Romney.

Especially the Philly burb numbers since I'm from there. I've seen a whole bunch of Obama/Biden signs pop up all over my neighborhood.

(9,841 posts)4. The Economist poll is important, because they have huge credibility.
And for those of you who don't know, this editorial board of that stuffy outfit actually endorsed Obama last time.
