2on2u and WorseBeforeBetter made me think of something (on Sophegirls thread)

I remember watching the cooking shows on PBS, and I loved them.

Justin Wilson, Yan Can Cook, Lidia's Kitchen, Biba, Frugal Gourmet, Caprial's Bistro, Galloping Gourmet.

Those guys were/are just awesome, and they -- unlike the gang on the Food Network -- didn't get big heads about their talent.

The PBS guys were all about cooking and not celebrity.

Tho some (like Caprial) show a bit of nepotism, again it was nowhere near the scope seen on TFN.

I bought several cooking books from the PBS chefs, but none from TFN crew (ok, I'll admit -- I did buy the Japanese Iron Chefs book NO ONE can touch Chairman Kaga )

ALLEZ CUISINE!!!!

After watching Gordon Ramsay, I feel like beating someone up (although he seems to have toned it down somewhat with Hotel Hell...). And Rachael Ray? ANNOYING!

It's fun to say "Lidia Matticchio Bastianich"!
