In 1968 my brother was having an eye removed in a field hospital in Vietnam

while Romney lounged in France. My brother as on a real "mission" when a booby trap exploded and took out his left eye and a part of his leg. I'm thinking of posting a picture of him in the hospital alongside Romney's "I love Ann" photo on Rachel's site.

My brother lived to come home but was never the same and died in a stupid motorcycle accident in 1984. Yes, I'm sure Romney's "mission" in France was fraught with danger.

beside a giant heart with "I love Ann" in the center while supporting the Viet Nam war at the same time getting four deferments and skipping to France to avoid fighting in it, kind of says it all about this elitist p.o.s.

Because that's a professionally done photo (which in a way adds insult to injury). No Kodak Instamatic for that asshole.

Edit: I got angry and neglected to tell you that I'm also sorry about your brother. I can't think of stories like this without the lyrics of "Fortunate Son" running through my head.

(CBS News) Mitt Romney's campaign on Thursday released an old photograph showing the softer side of the presidential candidate, when he was in his early 20s and courting his future wife.

The image, first given to Time magazine, shows Romney around 1968 on the beach in France, where he was serving as a Mormon missionary. He is casually lying in the sand in jeans and a white T-shirt, without any shoes on, inside a heart drawn in the sand. The declaration "I love Ann" is written in big capital letters next to him.

Romney's friends helped him take this picture and several pictures in France for Ann Davies, whom he married in 1969 after returning to the United States.

Also, it wasn't my brother but the OP's brother who was wounded in Viet Nam.

I think you should post his photo next to Romney's on Rachel's site. It would make quite the contrast...

It would certainly be a compelling contrast.

Romney's got 5 sons and is war-drumming against Iran. He doesn't think he'd ever have to send his sons, so he's not worried

and full of cruel irony when juxtaposed with that of the pampered Romney.

There really are no words for these kinds of injustices, whether your story stops here or goes beyond DU at this point.

I'm so sorry for this horrible loss to you and your family.

To use a Vietnamese expression, Romney isn't worth your brother's little fingernail.
