General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHave we heard any peep from Colin Powell?
We've heard from his former aide.
Has Powell said a word in this campaign?
He voted for Obama.
His endorsement again might sway some moderate Republicans.
Where is he?
Surely he sees the calamity ahead, with Romney.

(58,673 posts)He was dead to me after the UN debacle. Too bad, he's probably the only Republican I might have voted for over the last 20-30 years or so.
I'm glad he endorsed Obama before. Now, .

(11,464 posts)Just yesterday afternoon, I told my wife we have a few great moments of surprise waiting to help President Obama.
This was one of them.
I expect his endorsement in a few weeks after the last debate so he can say he weighed it carefully.
Now some dems don't like what he did in the leadup to Iraq.
I find that irrelevant, and his word resonates througout the USA
I fully expect him to continue to fight the war in politics with the current President Barack Obama.
Old generals do NOT cut and run in the middle of the war.

(53,339 posts)WASHINGTON -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Wednesday questioned Mitt Romney's choice in foreign policy advisers, saying that some are so right-wing that the advice they give deserves "second thought."
"I don't know who all of his advisers are, but I've seen some of the names and some of them are quite far to the right. And sometimes they might be in a position to make judgments or recommendations to the candidate that should get a second thought," Powell said during an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
He gave the example of Romney recently saying that Russia is the "number one geopolitical foe" to the United States.
"Come on Mitt, think," Powell said. "That isn't the case."

(1,418 posts)After hearing Powell hawking his so called book on the Diane Rehm show earlier this year-- where
she totally put him on the spot regarding the fact there were NO WMD's in Iraq... and
hearing Powell repeat at least three times-- "well, all our agencies said there were, soo...."
Powell totally ignores the fact that the State Departement advised:
1. there were no WMD's in Iraq.
2. there was no al Qaeda presense in Iraq-- because Hussein had his people kill them if they came
in to the country.
Powell has ZERO credibility now, and he knows it.
