USGS is reporting a 3.9 near the center of Montreal at 12:19. I definitely felt it here in Vermont! My house SHOOK.

10. Natural gas (not oil) fracking isn't allowed anywhere in VT, I am pretty sure.

I seem to remember reading that in some place or another...probably here!

3. Isn't that creepy? Glad it was a little one.

I am from CO and never felt a quake, then moved to SF in June of 89. Of course we had a big one on Oct 17, I thought I was going to die. Nothing is stranger than feeling your world literally shift under you.

My cat and I thought it was a big explosion on the next block, where all the condos are going up.

One big earth-shaking *BOOM*, it was.

A small earthquake was felt in and around Montreal region early Wednesday morning.

The Natural Resources Canada web page says a magnitude 4.5 quake struck 21 kilometres west-northwest region of Saint-Hyacinthe at 12:19 a.m. ET, and notes that the quake was felt.

9. Welcome to the California lifestyle...

When I first moved here, I slept through about my first 3 or 4, while roommates were up running around in a panic.

However, with the Whitter quake, I ended up running out onto the front lawn, naked (I worked all night and had only been
in bed a hour or two)! Then the Northridge one had us hanging onto the bed for dear life as it bounced up and down
on the third floor of our condo (didn't like that one a bit!)

11. I was in the Loma Prieta one--that cancelled the World Series and pancaked the overpass.

We were without power for days. I had a portable tv, a grill, and the only working phone for miles. I was popular...!

I've got solar electricity of the power goes out. But heating my house would be an issue.
