Here Are The Things That GOP Voters Vote For And Support

End of the minimum wage.
End of health care for women and the right to control their own bodies.
End of contraception and the criminalization of abortion FOR ANY REASON.
End of collective bargaining and the right to unionize.
End of labor protection via labor laws.
End of child labor laws.
End of separation of church and state.
End of fair voting via abolishing the voting rights act.
Teaching religion in schools and prayer in schools.
Teaching creationism while suppressing evolution.
End of economic fairness and social justice.
End of virtually all of the safety net. Cuts in Veterans care and VA.
Massive offshoring and outsourcing of jobs to places like China, India and the third world.
More repressive voting suppression laws.
End of Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid as viable programs.
Racism, bigotry, and white supremacy.
And the list is endless.
Your neighbor and your friend who supports the GOP votes for and stands for all these things. They cannot deny it. If that is a definition of a friend then we need a new dictionary.

It's just a part of a sense of security we don't want to give up, a feeling that all is right in the world, rose colored glasses. It's something that we don't want to exist, so we deny it.

Repubicans and Teabaggers vote for people and things that are bigoted, oppressive and dishonest, and are destroying the Commons and many lives, but they 'like you.' If you ever fall into one of the groups they don't like, then the truth will out.

An example would be someone who consistently makes bigoted and hateful remarks against a group that one is not a part of. So one feels safe in their company, thinks they are their friend. But that person who makes those remarks, is living under a different set of values.

They don't believe in equality, or wouldn't vote GOP. They don't believe in social justice, because they are taking the ladders of the Commons they used to get ahead, and pulling it up behind them.

A woman that is friends with them, may not be of child bearing age, so she doesn't care that those younger than her will have the same rights she had coming up, to control her own body and have choices. She and her husband may have gotten a education at a public school just as their kids did, reduced tuition or grants in college to help them make more money, but now doesn't care if the schools are privatized and the next generation won't have those opportunities.

Some may have the union pensions coming, but have bought the Reagan view of it and decided that they deserve all of that, but not the next generation, and certainly not all those people of color. Same as some retired military will vote GOP because they hate the idea of socialism, not admitting that they are the beneficiaries of it. Just like the baggers on disability and social security, medicare and mediaid, who believe they deserve, but so many others do not.

Maybe they don't have minorities in their families and don't feel the sting and financial loss of being discriminated and harrassed. So, some can sit with them and have a beer, and feel that what these folks are voting for, is really, just a difference of opinion, just a gentleman's disagreement that doesn't really affect many people's lives.

But theit callous attitudes have killed people and are killing people now. They are planning to kill more with their cuts in the social safety net. A person can play the game of sitting in comfort with such friends as long as they like you. After a while, you will be them and they will be you. And you'll stand by and let them destroy the country.
