Michelle Dunaj is dying of leukemia. On her way to Hawaii last week for what she expects will be the last vacation of her life, TSA agents at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport humiliated the 34-year-old by forcing her to lift up her shirt and peel back her bandages for inspection.
"My issue is: It was in front of everyone, and everyone was looking at me like I was a criminal or like I was doing something wrong," Dunaj told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "It shouldn't have been in front of everyone."
A request for a private screening area was denied, according to Dunaj. "I asked them if they thought that was an appropriate location, and they told me that everything was fine," she said.
Dunaj was carrying documentation for her feeding tubes and the prescriptions for all of her medication. She was also using a wheelchair. "I did everything they asked me to do, so I didn't think it would be an issue," she told KOMO-TV.

I have more than plenty to say about this myself. I just returned from a long trip, to be my "This is It" trip.
I ended up stuck in Germany in a wheelchair thanks to my disability which is multiple sclerosis. I finally arrived at my almost destination in SFO to catch the next flight north was missed. I was then called a "bitch" by a man at SFO that works for United Airlines as a "Service Director" after requesting a hotel room for the night.
Read this and weep you little two-bit freak. I hope you lose your job as "Service Director" for United Airlines very soon! I was told I should have called the police on you but wasn't thinking quite straight after trying to get home for over two days and have been suffering from severe exhaustion!
Sweet little awhole that he was dumped me at a place in Oakland some 45 mins. away after I told him I knew what my rights were. I hurt my leg trying to get off of a shuttle, something I told him I could not do and that I required a taxi, not a damn shuttle! No one cares, no one.
I was humiliated and degraded and this was plain cruel and inhumane.
Will I receive any restitution as the blame is passed from the airlines to TSA and back? Likely not. Can I find a lawyer to sue these bastards? Likely not being the airlines are indeed a corporation and lawyers are afraid of corporations (aka beyond any Nazi pigs that ever existed IMO!!).
The TSA hand passes the buck back to the airlines; airlines back to TSA. In the end, no one does a damn thing.
As for this poor lady dying with cancer, I know exactly how she feels; degraded and humiliated. How fucking sad is this anyway?
Lets face it folks, society hates the sick and the disabled and has no compassion for any of us and they wish we were all dead and gone, and the sooner the better! They are doing a good job at it, believe me!
I hope they all reap what they sow, that is about all I can say at this point!
I'd like to sue the hell out of these bastards. If anyone can help me, please let me know!
I just got out of bed after arriving home Sat. morning, that is how sick I have been.
This Is It alright. Enough already and I am very sorry that I attempted to even try to go on this trip! Shame of me for being so damned stupid! It makes the self-loathing and hatred of myself even greater as if it isn't huge enough already.
One positive note however: My cat is delighted that I am home as she loves me which is a lot more than I can say about most humans that I know!

(20,876 posts)They were taken in Germany as the passengers were waiting to board. Many of us were in wheelchairs and the Germans announced over the speaker system to "put your digital cameras away NOW".
That had the opposite effect however, more cameras emerged and more pictures were taken and UA has it on tape when I called and reported this little prick as I got his name.

(113,458 posts)out of those bastards. It has been my belief from the beginning that nearly all tsa agents are sadistic, voyeuristic bastards, and probably reincarnated ss

(20,876 posts)I have no idea!
I do have an entire email box filled with messages/changes to my itinerary as proof of how many times they changed things on me. I did not have my computer with me as it weighs too much.
If I'd had it with me, I'd be even more pissed/upset about this.
As for my poor husband, he was at his wits end with worry. I do believe I saw smoke coming out of the telephone when I called him from the hotel in Oakland.
I feel like I have no resource nor rights. I wish I knew of a shark of an attorney but I do not.

(20,876 posts)I'd asked them not to x-ray my medications, some cost $15.00 a pill or more. They did this anyway.
They were not supposed to require me to remove my shoes; they did this anyway.
They were supposed to assist me being I cannot ascend/descend stairs but I had to do this anyway.
I could go on and on and on but I won't.
The stress of this nightmare is far from over. I believe that TSA does no good at all and I hope they enjoy that little jar of marmalade I bought in Budapest for my husband. It was confiscated because it was more that 100 ml.
You cannot win and as another poster has said, no private jets nor planes for you yet YOU pay the price for this hell!
What exactly are they accomplishing with the B.S.? Nothing but harassment best I can tell!

(3,908 posts)The last time I flew was 2001, before TSA and that was enough for me and what I witnessed the outrageous behavior of airline/airport staff while dealing with myself and others trying to travel while disabled on 3 of the four flights around that time, different airlines, different destinations.
In the comments column of the survey, at a Portland OR University, I said that it was my opinion that I would have to be an insane masochist to fly in the US today it wasn't safe. But most people don't believe it until they either experience or see it for themselves. What was done was life threatening while threatening the disabled people with everything from eviction to jail. Every request was reasonable and necessary and was not delaying or inconveniencing any one else. It was abuse without cause, like they were deliberately mistreating people.
So sorry that nobody read that study and acted on it.

(89,254 posts)didn't recently one of them steal some ipad or something ? and just too many other stories i read. not saying it should be 100 percent perfect .
but a lot of them just come off as totally unprofessional . i have seen people have a much better attitude who work in other areas which aren't as "serious".

(7,583 posts)As an 80 year old frail man he looks pretty threatening to these people.
Anyway, my father doesn't care what other people think (a blessing and a curse) so he follows the assholes commands, but at the speed one can expect from a man his age and disability. Recently, they badgered him about the speed he goes through this absurd process. It's a police state, but not much we can do about it.
