Biden to Ryan: "SO WHY DID HE CHOOSE YOU"

I'm putting this out there.

My last "this is so blindingly obvious that it fucking hurts" pre-cog job on the last debate apparently did NOT go without saying ("point out that he says one thing in front of the American people here tonight, but last week he said something different/he's been saying something completely contradictory for the last year"*), so I'm going to take the time to show this is first-guessing, not second-guessing.

One of Biden's jobs is to tie Ryan's incredibly unpopular proposals and theories to the national ticket. Ryan, and his ticket, are in deep shit if he doesn't disown those positions, most likely with some kind of mealy-mouthed "this is Governor Romney's ticket" nonsense.

So...

WHY DID HE CHOOSE YOU? WAS HE UNAWARE OF ALL YOUR PUBLICLY DISCLOSED POSITIONS - WAS HIS VETTING SO INSUFFICIENT THAT HE HADN'T EVEN READ UP ON YOUR POSITIONS?

AND WHY HAS HE PUBLICLY PRAISED YOUR BUDGET AND YOUR POLICIES IN THE PAST, IF SUDDENLY A ROMNEY-RYAN ADMINISTRATION REPRESENTS SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT?

See, this is not hard.

* I can't get over the fact that people keep asking, "oh my God, whatever was Barack supposed to do when Mitt went off on a wild lying jag??!!"

As I've said before, and as shown above, it wasn't that fucking complicated.

4. In my opinion, that is the wrong way to ask this.

It should be more like, "why did you choose to be his vice president." Your question could only be answered by Mitt Romney. It leaves too much room for him to waffle around with his answer. Even so, he'll probably just deflect the question with some bs about "character" or something equally meaningless.

5. I think it's pretty simple to tie someone to their choice or say they take no responsibility

and he didn't just choose him - he explicitly praised his budget and his positions before he turned tail and ran from them.

And it's simple to ask Ryan whether he still believes in the things he's been preaching his entire career, or like Romney is he utterly malleable depending on which way the wind is blowing.

All this is much preferable to let Ryan, just like Romney did, debate on the basis of a made up record.

been thoroughly documented, will hurt Mitt Romney's chances to win?"

What's so funny about your pre-debate analysis to me is, I started two threads about possible responses to Mitt's flip flops and half the responses were "oh, he has a brilliant team, they know what to do."

Well, I'll be the first to say...THEY DON'T. On MSNBC tonight they said the team of professional debate prep people had Obama all set up to defend himself and call Romney out. THEN it was his inside team that nixed.

I will also be the first one to say, if any legit polls follow Pew, Obama should immediately shake up his advisors. Plouffe and Ax are brilliant electoral vote number crunchers. BUT they are NOT political savvy people. Just watch Ax on TV - absolute worse spokesman - most of us could think of 5 better things to say than he can.

He should split them up, and get some hard kicking ass people who know every in and out about the Romney mess and how to nail his ass.

the day after the debate, I said, fly the nighttime MSNBC team in to Camp David...and throw in Ron Reagan and that guy who does the Inside the Actor's studio.

ha ha, that guy's a clown. He used to go to a party I went to every summer. Very strange looking little man, irl.

Great show, but also a hilarious show to make fun of.

Just responding to Lipton here.

stuff to say about body language and demeanor.

I would tell Obama to save the really big grin (which is adorable) for ONLY the really funny moments. AND, to think of new ways to say the same stuff he says all the time.

legitimately (appearance-wise).

But maybe he's learned some stuff sitting down with all those amazing guests over the years.

Anything is possible.
