50 Shades was originally Twilight fan fiction. It is horribly written fan fiction of a horribly written series.

I heard it was very poorly written. I may snag a copy from the library to see what all the fuss is about.

I found it anti-woman, badly-written, and juvenile.

The fact that the POV character takes ZERO responsibility for anything that happens to her in this novel is quite distasteful to me. Throughout the novel, she is simply acted upon. She makes no decisions of her own, except by default (I'm thinking of the contract that she never got around to signing).

I don't roll that way. The responsibility for my sexual experience lies with me. My partner and I are...you know...partners.

sounds like the books of 70's and 80's. weak women characters is about the only book i will not finish reading. too many good female characters now a days.

The heroine is shallow and babyfied, the hero irritating and if she bit her lip or rolled her eyes one more time I'd have smacked her myself. And the sex was dull! And the author's desire to be PC made (I kid you not) contract negotiations fucking ENDLESS. If he'd torn the wrapper off of one more condom I'd have slit my wrists. I decline numbers 2 and 3.
