Why is a person who lives on disability, a republican?

An acquaintance of mine lives on disability because she has MS. She's been posting all sorts of repug crap - the same stuff you hear from Rush and the other repugs, like Obama cooked the job numbers - on facebook for all her friends to see. I finally had enough and posted something rude (like "shut up&quot and of course I was de-friended.

Don't people who depend on things like disability, and other benefits, realize they support the party that sees programs like that, as evil socialism? Even more, Ryan said he does not believe in "altruism". Didn't she hear about the Romney comments on entitlement for 47%? Is there a parallel universe out there? Am I dreaming? How can anyone be so stupid? (e.g. they vote against their own economic self interest). ARGH!!!!!

They think they would be the one that was selected when a romney had In vitro,

Sperm sorting is a means of choosing what type of sperm cell is to fertilize the egg cell. It can be used to sort out sperm that are most healthy, as well as determination of more specific traits, such as sex selection in which spermatozoa are separated into X- (female) and Y- (male) chromosome bearing populations based on their difference in DNA content. The resultant 'sex-sorted' spermatozoa are then able to be used in conjunction with other assisted reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination or in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to produce offspring of the desired sex.

One lucky sperm first it starts off rich and selected from there.

Mon Oct 8, 2012, 03:12 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_attribution_error

"In social psychology, the fundamental attribution error (also known as correspondence bias or attribution effect) describes the tendency to over-value dispositional or personality-based explanations for the observed behaviors of others while under-valuing situational explanations for those behaviors. The fundamental attribution error is most visible when people explain the behavior of others. It does not explain interpretations of one's own behavior—where situational factors are often taken into consideration. This discrepancy is called the actor–observer bias."

In a nutshell, when *I* have to go on food stamps, it's because I'm a victim of bad circumstance. When someone else has to go on food stamps, they are doing it because of an intrinsic character flaw - they are lazy and unwilling to get a "real" job. The cognitive dissonance is breathtaking.

He is brainwashed and tends to believe everything he is told, but part of his deal is that on that ( Very Italian ) side of my family, there has been a falling out.

All of us have been diehard Dems, from our immigrant Grandma who always said, "FDR was our friend." But my cousin is angry at his Dem brothers ( with good cause but that's another story ) so I think he likes to play with Repukes as a way to disavow his siblings.

And part of it is the media, because he has all day to love on Glen Beck and FOX.

We go back and forth, but yesterday, I just had it, and decided I wasn't arguing any more. Ryan/Rmoney are very clear on how they view Social Security, and I am absolutely floored that people on SS would support them, so I am going to repeat that to everyone I know on SS.

"Vote for whom you wish, but DO NOT call me and complain when you end up losing your benefits because YOU DID IT TO YOURSELVES."

He's confined to a wheelchair and absolutely would rely on SSI to survive were he not living at home. He went to school on Pell grants. He reaps the benefits of the ADA everywhere he goes. You can be sure his single mother pays no income tax (she works as a gas-station cashier) and I suspect probably qualifies for and receives food stamps. He lives at home and takes his disability check to the casinos at the first of every month, where he posts Facebook updates on his poker and slots until the money runs dry again, till next month. They are on full disability, all paid by the government. In between government-paid surgeries they spend time organizing Tea Party events.

Can not figure this out except that they seem to be proud of themselves that they "won" and now they want to make sure that they get to keep it all themselves. They don't want to share.

Hypocritical is another appropriate term, as well as self-destructive. Of course, many lying-ass repukes are actually mentally ill but it'll take another 10 years before that diagnosis is publicly acceptable.

A neighbor of my coworker is getting SSDI she probably should not be getting, and yet this woman rants about "lazy Mexicans and Bosnians" getting government assistance.

If someone agrees with the other party on everything else, he/she is not going to vote Democrat for this.

80. Long-Term Unemployed Guy Also Posting Repug Stuff

I have an acquaintance who has been out of the job for over 3 years who is a rabid Republican. Ironically, the job that he got laid off from was at a conservative website. He got laid off because he took too much sick leave. He's facing foreclosure, and is constantly begging us and our other friends for money. We did give him money once, but he spent it on comic books instead of his bills. Did I mention that this guy is in his 50's?

Of course, the reason that he continues to be unemployed is that it's all Obama's fault.

quit blaming Obama. Then tell him to pull yourself up by your boot straps and quit being a victim.

It's always good to throw their propaganda right back at them!
