Had a conversation concerning voter id laws well sorta...

The other day I was talking with a co worker ( we're both cops) about "How Chicago liberals in are taking away the rights of citizens to protect themselves and how the cities and state fees for Id for gun ownership are unconstitutional' I agreed with him that yes it is a tax and that I also believed it was unconstitutional. He was shocked that I agreed with him on that. Being that I knew he was a "staunch" republican and a fox "News" watcher I asked him how he felt about the voter id laws that are being implemented in many states. He answered by saying "I think it's great to require Id to keep this fraud down". When I told him that voter fraud was overblown he continued about how everybody should have a state id of some sort. I stopped him right there and walked him back to our previous conversation concerning the required purchase of of state firearms identification card and how he thought it was unconstitutional. He stammered on speaking talking points about illegals at which point I corrected him stating that there is no such thing as an illegal alien because there is nothing against the law concerning being here without proper documents and that it's only against the law to enter the country without proper id. I ended that conversation by stating that I found it laughable that most conservatives lament state laws requiring citizen purchased ids and fees concerning gun ownership but attempt to enact the SAME laws concerning voting. He got upset and laughed it off and called me a "democRAT". I laughed and told him when he's old enough and his brain has been fully developed that I'll let him know that the Tooth fairy, Santa Claus don't exist, that we didn't walk the earth with dinosaurs, global warming does exist and that his party sees him as nothing more than a tool!

that would keep GLBT as second class citizens.
Oppose all taxes & still expect police, firemen, schools, safe bridges, drivable roads, clean water.....

Where do they think the infrastructure comes from? God?

Hypocrisy!! LOL. They're not for small government. It just sounds good in sound bites to those with underdeveloped frontal lobes.
