Voter suppression ?

Maybe it is just me but is it possible that there is intentional or unintentional voter suppression happing on this site? I might be just freaking out but are some of the threads here turning people away from working as hard as they can to elect Democrats? There are a number genuine concerns being expressed here on a number of issues from Medicare and Social Security to promises left unfilled. How can we discuss these with out getting discussed or becoming discussing? May I suggest remembering that there are many who read these post who are not as yet members but are influenced by what we say here, so I am wondering if it is possible to engage in intelagent debate over our many issues and at the same time not turn off people who could be persuaded to vote for Democrats?

I doubt that many 'undecided' voters are turning to DU to help clarify the issues for them. Most of those still 'undecided' won't vote anyway and are too lazy to do any kind of research.

The DUers who are expressing concern about certain issues will not be dissuaded from voting. People need to vent their frustration at times. If anything, the discussions here are making the importance of this election very clear.

What about Democratic voters who get persuaded not to work hard for Obama's reelection or as happened in 2010 just not vote?

I think more republicans will decide not to vote because they've never really embraced rMoney, and they sure as hell don't trust him. And his hard turn to the center during the debate has left a lot of them scratching their heads. But they had plenty of warning that he will say absolutely anything to get elected. The man has no core.

People on DU may express frustration, but that doesn't mean they won't vote. I read far more optimistic posts on DU than pessimistic ones. I'm not the least bit worried about Dems not working for the Obama campaign or not voting.

Cheating on the repube side, now THAT i'm kind of worried about . . .

As I watched this weekend Mitt get a bounce in the polls I guess that I became a little concerned that we not turn any one off.

the other side that do post at various sites trying to change votes or talk people out of voting because of disappointment. Many of those trolls do show up here and I'm guessing there are long term members here that are trolls that are a bit more and have survived here.

I haven't heard or read about any Dems hiring firms or people for that, but I'm guessing they likely do. One of the things that one of Walker's aides here got caught doing is exactly that. She was found to be posting in comment sections of newspapers and forums.
