Powerful Chris Hedges quote:

"There are two sets of principles. They are the principles of power and privilege and the principles of truth and justice. If you pursue truth and justice it will always mean a diminution of power and privilege. If you pursue power and privilege, it will always be at the expense of truth and justice…"

Whatever you think of Chris Hedges and his visions of doom, I think this quote is pretty good. I think it applies to a lot of things. For instance, why there is such a divide of opinions on the activities of activist groups like Code Pink, Wikileaks, Occupy and so on. Anything that flies directly into the face of power and privilege will always upset those who adhere to these principles.

The two concepts simply can't exist in the same space. We've seen that over the last 4 years, even. Truth and Justice have taken a back seat to less savory interests, and we deal with the consequences every day.
