I can't see any republican winning that in a national election.
He won at the time because of his weak opponent and the bad economy of the state.

People were desperate to try anything new

I.e., William Weld, Paul Cellucci, & Jane Swift.

But the last time MA voted for a rethug President was 1984.

And this is why I always wondered why election after election, the lamestream media kept calling PA a "swing state" when we hadn't voted for a rethug President since 1988 and had similar turnover of rethug vs Dem governors as so-called "blue" states like MA & NJ.

Yea but other than Regan has a republican ever won MA in a national election?

I can't think of one. Brown won due to Obama care.
I know it's not popular to say this here but the majority of MA democrats were against it.( or just disgusted with how congress and the senate were doing) so many stayed home
It was not a popular bill among many democrats in most states.

As a former Governor, Romney should be able to score in the 43-45% range. He is stuck in the low 30's.

Just like he want's the title of "President".

Just two years into his term as Governor, he started campaigning around the country for the 2008 Republican nomination -- and spent the next two years absolutely trashing Massachusetts.

People around her don't forget that.
