Score For Obama! The 2012 Deficit Down By $207 Billion And Heading Lower

The Congressional Budget Office has released its estimate for the fiscal year 2012, just ended on September 30 and the news is good. The federal deficit was just under $1.1 trillion, compared to just under $1.3 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2011, a reduction of $207 billion. As a percentage of the GDP, the 2012 deficit dropped to 7.0 per cent, down from 8.7 percent in 2011 and 9.0 percent in 2010. The actual deficit numbers will be released later this month by the Treasury Department

The September 2012 numbers show an increase in receipts of about $23 billion, or 9% higher than the same period a year ago and a decrease of $115 billion in spending.

...we know Fox will. I do like the fact that in a little more than two days, two of the 'Pubes biggest talking points have dissolved: unemployment is now under 8% and the deficit is lower and going down.

We may lose a heck of a lot of public sector jobs. We may go back into recession. We may not be able to provide traditional government services. We may lose our saftey net. But that deficit will be under control.

Get ready for the Social Security "sunset" law. It's coming.

All in the name of protecting assets in hedge funds and foreign accounts.

People need to ask themselves why they are celebrating numbers on a spreadsheet while their fellow Americans are hurting.

They tell their voters they are Fiscal Conservatives but since 1980 have spent large and cut taxes to drive up the deficits and then when Dem president get in start screaming about the national debt and how we have to cut entitlement spending.

15. A predictable result because of the unemployment trend

As more people go back to work, the spending on unemployment goes down and the revenues - from taxes on the new employees goes up. Also, as more people go back to work, they start spending more, leading to more employment.

(There is also likely some impact because the states where you can collect extended unemployment are far fewer. This helps the numbers, but the long term unemployed are suffering more because of it.)

I wonder if this could be used to reduce the amount of spending cuts required.

This trend will also make it seem as though the President in office made the economy better.

Fudge numbers cause O had such a horrible debate he must distort the numbers just like the unemployment and jobs numbers!

Welch, West, and all of Fake News will set the record straight! The Mormons, Beck, Limpballs, Hucklebee(sp), Boone and Robertson will pay it away. Mittens and Mini Mitt, the serial liars will give their own account, and Mary Maltin will tell everyone that they are all lying.

Meanwhile, Pres O and VP Biden and the Democratic Party want America to recovery and succeed. The GOP party want America fail.
