Dear Conspiracy Wingnuts: I Got a Full Time Job Today. So Did Lots of Other People.

Now, I know that doesn't mean much. Because I'm just one person, right? But let me tell you what else I learned today.

I'll be teaching kids in a Business and Health College who want to try to make something of their lives. Medical Assistants, Coders, Surgical Techs, IT people, etc. Some even enroll and try for their Bachelors. And guess what else? We have employers waiting for our grads. Some are letting the kids work a couple days a week while they're studying - and they're paying them while they go to school. You ever seen a kid's face when they get a job.. a really GOOD job? A job that means they can get out of poverty - a job that means they have a future that doesn't look like the life they imagined for themselves growing up with people telling them they'll never amount to anything.. People like Mitt Romney

If you haven't ever seen this look, you should. Because these are some of the "moochers" your Candidate doesn't like much. The 47% of us. And they're better people, deep down inside, than your candidate will ever be.

Enrollment is up, way up; demands for these grads are up, so we need more teachers, and ergo, more ancillary staff.. well, you get the picture. It's growing the economy from the middle freaking out, you nitwits.

Now, why in the name of all that's Holy would you MORONS decry people going back to work? Good job numbers are BAAADD??! It's a Conspiracy?! That is so freaking typical it makes me want to pull my hair out and scream. This doesn't fit in with your agenda, ergo, the books must be cooked. What is wrong with you people? You've killed every jobs bill, including the jobs bill for Veterans, and despite every one of your BEST EFFORTS.. PEOPLE ARE GOING BACK TO WORK.

As I said, that's just my experience. But when those numbers come out again, you can rest assured, I'm in them. And so are lots of other REAL people, who just got a job today.

The job paid $10/year more than the one I had lost before that. It wasn't the best fit, so I kept my options open. (It's a 63-mile each way drive.)

A week from Monday I'll be starting a new job that will pay 10G/year more than this one WITH fully-paid health benefits AND three weeks vacay/year. I'm leaving my current job on the best of terms, and hey, they're screaming here for MUMPS programmers. (If you happen to be one and you need a good-paying gig, PM me!!)

I'm lucky that I have a wide skill set and test out well under any of it.

I'm headed back to the world of web-programming. The market is screaming for PHP programmers. My phone hasn't stopped ringing for several months. It's been nice to pick-and-choose to get something that fits.

The job market sucks? Not for IT in central NC it doesn't.

as well. And I'm an RN, so go figure. Due to personal circumstances, I had to quit travel nursing and stay home, and what was available to me here in the south (even with every certification in the book), was 12 hour night shift. Been there, done that for 30 years. Anything else with decent hours, they told me I was "overqualified" for. WTF?

So now I'm teaching, and going back to school for another degree to make myself even more "overqualified" - the health care industry is good but they have some catching up to do and workplace conditions suck in the south. But with AFA coming into its own, we're going to be hiring/training Health Care Workers like crazy, as well.

I'm not making as much as I was, but there's a lot to be said for decent hours and peace of mind !

Congrats again and thanks for sharing this story !

in a profession I so admire. My family has quite a few nurses in it. I don't trust doctors worth a damn -- but I will look to a nurse for the right information every time. You're the ones on the line; observing, caring, watching over, first responding, The Book of Information, crisis solvers, the ones who keep doctors from killing you.

It sucks you aren't making the salary you deserve. Know this: many a patient down the line will thank you silently for what you're sharing now.

The Republican agenda for the last four years is to make sure good job numbers didn't happen. Yes, I believe some business owners sandbagged some jobs, you betcha. Mitt thinks there's a whole lot of them, because when he's elected, jobs will magically appear like he's a leprechaun, or something.

Republican sycophants caterwauling about good job numbers just underscores that point.

... And they wonder why they're not popular.
