(5,429 posts)what the 'conservative' nametag stood for.
The verb 'to conserve' means to keep the same, nurture, etc.
Seems there must be a better word to describe them? After all not much positive 'conservation' happening in the Repug part of town.

(24,606 posts)I generally support a progressive agenda with making things better for everyone. Obviously, they desire is to go back in time when they perceived a world that catered to their racial identity. They hate the world they live in and have no interest in supporting real progress for this country.

(14,953 posts)Following his demise, Chevy Chase, host of NBC's Saturday Night's comedic news segment Weekend Update, announced Franco's death, and read a quotation from Richard Nixon: "General Franco was a loyal friend and ally of the United States. He earned worldwide respect for Spain through firmness and fairness."[1] As an ironic counterpoint to this, a picture was displayed behind Chase, showing Franco giving the Roman salute alongside Adolf Hitler.
