Mitt Ramney does not deserve the NRA endorsement

And no, neither does Obama.

If the NRA was honest they would sit this election out. Ramney cannot be trusted on their issues. He has a long career of supporting the semiautomatic weapon ban and other gun control measures. Only his pursuit of the party nomination for president and need to win Southern and Midwestern primaries brought about his unconvincing claims that he has had a change of heart.

This only proves that the NRA will give the benefit of the doubt to the Republican when a similar flexibility would not be extended to a Democrat if he switched from being anti-gun to pro-gun. Likewise the NRA will only endorse a Democrat with a 100% rating and only if he is an incumbent. 95% is not good enough, but I bet you it would be for a Republican politician.

Does he even know the breech from the muzzle?

I doubt if either Obama or Romney know the first thing about guns.

At least Obama doesn't pretend to.

As far as I'm concerned it's a push on the gun thing. So it goes back to a matter of trust. Obama has given me no indication that he intends to do anything to restrict gun ownership and I believe it's a non issue with him. Romney hasn't done anything either but he's such a lying opportunist I can believe he'd push to abolish the second amendment if he thought he could gain something from doing so.

just to scare up some support from sportsmen and gun owners.

Romney stops at nothing to garner a vote or two.

He didn't own a gun though, although he claimed he did, until called on it.

2. NRA is not just about guns. Board nembers include Norquust, Bolton

and host of other right wingers and gun profiteers. They want a republican. They and their Political Action arm can control a republican, but not necessarily a second term Prez. That whole bunch is immoral, if not criminal.

So what other issue is the NRA, not the board members, but the NRA involved in besides the 2A issues?
Before you accuse me of being an NRA apologist, I've never belonged to the NRA and I never will.

Even who gets NRA's backing and benefit from their right wing lobby.

what other issues, besides the 2A, is the NRA, not the board members, but the NRA involved in?

And of course I have a gun, I'm a Police Officer.

BTW, I do miss you in the guns group, I didn't agree with you being banned.

That is not what is at issue.

It is perfectly normal for an organized group to make no endorsement and sit an election out. The Fraternal Order of Police are sitting this election out.

Do you honestly think Romney would nominate anti-RKBA judges? They might sit out a state legislative race, but the presidency? There is just too much at stake for that.

To say their members are not almost exclusively republican is naive. So who cares who a republican organization endorses or not?
