I want to watch my regular line up tonight, but I'm not in the mood to hear a continuous drumbeat of of how terrible Obama did.

(129,298 posts)I expect Ed will be a mess too, but I think that Rachael and Lawrence will use their intellect instead of brute emotion.

(4,119 posts)Matthews was actually questioning whether Obama should be re-elected based on one F..ing debate! Obama was suppose to behave like a rabid dog instead of maintaining the dignity of the presidency!!! I couldn't watch more than a minute and won't watch it until he calms down.

(35,392 posts)I doubt he'll stay in the "liberal" camp much longer ...
Romney's one "flight-suit with a sock in the crotch" away from having Tweety's blond (gray) hairs in his magic underpants ...
Tarheel_Dem
(31,236 posts)good this time. I don't need that crap. Both are too driven by emotion, and the sporting nature of politics than actual policy. I didn't watch Rachel or Lawrence last night, but it sounds like they've both returned to their usual sensible analysis.

(6,096 posts)They are getting it as well as Now with Alex...that show was incredible...
TOTAL support of Obama and approval on everything he did last night.
I hope Tweetie comes to his senses.
By the way the reason for total approval is because both of these shows are
introducing line by line ALL THE LIES by Romney and Basir (is that his name?) that
show said that if Obama had tried to debate Romney last night and argue with him
they'd still be on the stage... Oh that show today was INCREDIBLE. I am so psyched now.

(44,173 posts)I will try Maddow and O'Donnell tonight, but I will have my hand close to the clicker.
I will sail against the wind and push against the echo chamber: Obama won the debate.

(46 posts)I don't think Obama won, but goodness these people in panic are awful. I turned the TV off last night as soon as I realized what the narrative was going to be and haven't turned it back on since. I will watch Rachel and Lawrence with caution. Chris is EXTREMELY emotional! That man only has extremes, so I won't watch him for days.

(24,096 posts)sing it sister/brother. lol. I haven't tuned in since last night after the debate. I will be watching here for when it is safe to do so again. But I will remember.

(30,754 posts)He can be great. He seems to be ethical. But he goes into panic mode. I do it myself, so I get it.
Overall, I may joke about Tweety, but I like him.

(2,391 posts)Tweety, not so much. But at least he's laughing at his own over-the-top outrage. I refuse to watch Ed tonight. I might catch Rachel, though.

O'Donnell, Mr. Cool, will not rant and rave. I look forward to hearing his program (after tonight he won't be on until Monday night, you know-- I always forget that!)
It's wise to give wide berth to those who may upset us. Even if they are on our side. I thought Martin did a superb job today-- he wasn't phased by the situation-- in fact, he turned it around nicely.
And Al Sharpton, of course.

(2,391 posts)Although, he did kind of laugh at himself for it. But, yeah, I would avoid Tweety for a bit. Ed is getting over himself.

(26 posts)Watched Rev. Al and his show was just fine. I guess he sees stuff better and clearer then the others.
I will try Lawrence's show but otherwise I will be taking a break until they smarten up!!!
I can't believe that is all it took, one debate, to having them ready to jump ship!!! The Repugs sure don't have any trouble staying with their guy and look what all lies etc. he put them through...
Wake up people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BumRushDaShow
(129,298 posts)Exactly! It took many many flip flops and gaffes and pretzel twists by both Rmoney and Lyin' Ryan before Joe Scarborough finally had had enough and threw up his hands. Meanwhile, weather vane Tweety throws a temper tantrum like a 2-year old any time President Obama doesn't act like the school yard bullies that Tweety admires and embraces.
And welcome to DU!

Those two acted like spoiled brats. I personally hope a lot of people on the left boycott their shows for a while so that that they both understand to whom he's talking.

(22,898 posts)I think he goes out on the stump for the President on his own-- I really respect and admire him for that. Perhaps he feels he has a little more vested in Obama's doing well. Not sure. But we have to MOVE ON!!

As Will Rogers once said, "I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a democrat."
I've worked with our local party for years and very often it is much like herding cats. We are all very opinionated, snort. Wouldn't have it any other way.

(21,642 posts)She's going down the list of past first Presidential debates where incumbents faced challengers. Turns out that incumbents are rarely considered the winners of their first debates. Maybe it has something to do with the expectations game?

(1,362 posts)The sad thing is, most people only get it when the MSMedia says something they don't like. Propaganda, is by definition an emotional response medium, not a rational thought medium. I'll go ahead and post a definition again although I'm sure it'll be completely ignored by most:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda
---Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes.
As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political or religious agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.---

(31,236 posts)themselves as "leaders of political thought" on the left. I gave both of them another chance because of the excellent and uplifting convention coverage, but I removed them from my lineup after their disgraceful post-debate hysterics. Ed is by far worse than Tweety. I dumped him before during the recall. He was insisting that Obama "get involved", or he'd lose WI. This may not be the right line of work for him. His ego and emotions are far too fragile.

(31,236 posts)maintained that Big Ed was a front running phoney. He fancied himself a Rush Limbaugh type, but because the right already had Rush, they didn't need his clone. Sounds like Big Ed took a turn to launch his radio career, and was offered a pretty sweet deal for his conversion.
