"That Big Bird Comment did more to Harm Romney than anything Obama could have said last night."

My wife was commenting to a friend that Romney said what he did about firing Big Bird is going to really upset Soccer moms and more average americans than anyone realized.

(long story) but I was following tweets when I could. Then a few came up with Big Bird and could NOT figure out wth was going on. Quite the surprise this morning, and have been chuckling all day.

For every dollar "given" to pbs member stations, they raise $6. That money is not all coming from Democrats! both sides of the aisle love PBS and donate when they can. It creates a sense of ownership.... Rmoney just coming out and saying he was killing Big Bird and saying to Lehrer's face he would fire him.... just shows how callous and cold the psycho is.

The best way to take him down seems to be to just stand back and let him talk. A lot of people are complaining about Obama's debate performance, that he wasn't aggressive enough, but maybe just hanging back and letting Mittens strangle himself with his own tongue isn't such a bad strategy.

is the put thousands of people out of work. Big Bird is the personification of the death of a respected American institution. Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Captain Kangaroo, Nova, the Cosmos with Carl Segan, Bob Ross's Joy of Painting, Frontline, The News Hour, the McLaughlin Group, Masterpiece Theater, the FUCKING LAWRENCE WELK SHOW... Everyone knows and has some connection to these programs, even some very deep connections... do not underestimate childhood nostalgia or the power of public television. PBS has touched out lives at every single stage of our lives, Big Bird is an avatar for something much greater.

I don't know why so many people were ready to drink bleach over the debates last night...I read that 69% of the US loves public television and wants to keep it. Firing Big Bird is not likely to play well with anyone but the fringe. People will remember a line like that, and talk about it.

And it's been all over the MSM today. They may be piling on Obama today, but they're also acknowledging the importance of the Big Bird issue to Willard's support. Willard blew it big time with that remark.

Perfect!
