That is essentially what he did at Bain. He was responsible for finding investors and selling them on Bain. Other people found the companies and ran them. That's why is so comfortable with and good at raising money from rich people. That's what he knows.
I've been trying to put my finger on what is about what it is about Romney that rubs me the wrong why. I finally realized that he reminds of me of the drug dealers and street hustlers I knew in my younger days. I always got a certain feeling from these people that caused me not to believe anything they said, because even when they were telling the truth, they were trying to manipulate me with that in some way or another. Take him out of the suit and put him in another situation, and he would fit right in with pimps, drug dealers, or perhaps the barker for a strip joint in North Beach.
Sure, there is a certain amount of huckerism in all salesmanship. But Romney pushes the envelope beyond what is done in mainstream circles. Maybe that is how it is done in private investment firms, but other some used car salesmen, I haveen't seen these traits except in street hustlers.
