Is there any reason to fear military retirements will be cut off as well as Social Security?

I think there is valid fear that SS will be abolished to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Is there a valid possibility that military retirements/medical benefits as well as federal retirements will be abolished as well?

If they really want to slash government spending, those things would certainly slash the budget. And if they did that to us, what on earth could we possibly do about it?

(Assuming the horrible possibility that RMoney wins.)

that turns its back on service members. My dad gave a big chunk of his life to the Air Force (and his health - he was a POW and badly wounded) and really counted on his pension and medical because otherwise it was very hard for him to find employment in the private sector after he retired.
