Romney Admits Pushing Misinformation In Debate

During Wednesday night’s president debate, Mitt Romney claimed that “half” of the green firms Obama invested “have gone out of business” and noted that “a number of them happened to be owned by people who were contributors to your campaigns.”

Fact checkers — including this blog — quickly pounced on the claim, explaining that only a tiny percentage of firms that received grants or loans from the Recovery Act have actually filed for bankruptcy. That's as big a lie as saying half of them are bankrupt when the truth is < 1%. The amount going into green energy development is much lower than $90B. I wish it were $90B.

How can we expect a President to make good decisions if he can't deal with accurate data? He is off by orders of magnitude.
