As was brought up on TheBlaze live chat during the debate, take a look at Romney’s pin. Not only is it larger than President Barack Obama‘s flag pin but Romney’s appears to have a dot in the center of the red and white stripes.

There are some who speculate the candidate is wearing this pin because he may have forgotten his own. It’s possible. But the writer of the blog Pied Type points out that Romney’s running mate Paul Ryan has been seeing wearing a similar pin as well. It also notes that both men previously have worn flag lapel pins with elephants on them.

on edit: And why does the SS do this, too? For all the patriotism this country touts, the old rules of showing respect for the flag have gone by the wayside. The flag is plastered everywhere. Also, I've seen some of the shoddiest flags being flown - dirtied & tattered - both in my neighborhood & at local businesses.

served in the military. Now the flag pin seems to be a symbol of "look, i'm more patriotic than the other person, see my flag pin?" didn't they make a big thing out of candidate obama not wearing a flag pin in the last election?

you can be a big chicken hawk, never serve your country, harm the majority of the american people, sell out the country-but, hey, I'm wearing a flag pin, therefore, I'm very patriotic.

and, that's what is really sad. The selling out of our country to any and all corporations, selling out the people, putting our soldiers in harms way for a lie is okay if one looks like they actually give a shite about the country and its' people.

Flag pins were the creepily communist Order-of -Lenin medal response to 9/11-militarism. Wearing the magic/holy flag pin wards off criticism by emitting rays of defensive stupidness.

In this instance, I suspect it may have been a deliberate attempt to intimidate the President by suggesting that the Secret Service was secretly loyal to Romney and that his family's safety was compromised.

It fits so well with Romney's love of petty frat boy tricks with a very ugly subtext. His close friends are probably laughing themselves sick over the 'secret' zinger Romney pulled off.

The flag pin was the coded message to the chosen few in the know. Along with his racist message of intimidation, Romney wears a cowboy star to claim the Reagan legacy. Not to mention the classic small town Southern sheriff of the 70s, who knows how to handle uppity 'colored folk.'

Subtle. Vicious. This man has not found the depths of his own evil yet. He will kill to amuse himself. He is evil.

looks like a bullet hole to me. Blasphemy!

On second thought it might be some sort of camera or audio device.

Maybe we should have a NO JEWELRY rule in debates now. These bastards will cheat anyway they can!
