Axelrod: Romney Was ‘Vigorous’ But ‘Devoid Of Honesty’

Axelrod: Romney Was ‘Vigorous’ But ‘Devoid Of Honesty’

David Axelrod, senior adviser to the Obama campaign, said that Mitt Romney gave a "vigorous" performance in the debate Wednesday night but one that was "devoid of honesty," on a conference call with reporters Thursday.

Axelrod said the campaign would "hold Gov. Romney accountable for the things he said in the first debate and make him justify those claims," referring to the positions Romney took Wednesday night on his tax plan, Medicare and hiring teachers.

Obama does need to dispense with the compliments as a part of his rhetoric next time though. He complimented Rmoney on having the same view on Social Security and for his health plan in MA. Though it was backhanded it wasn't effective.

Better to attack selected lies that really nail Rmoney's hipocrisy
