we all wondered why Mittens was so stupid to announce they would have zingers
that was probably just a bluff
either that or they rehearsed and realized Mitt couldn't zing very well and came up with plan b.(lying)

That first lie threw the President off. He didn't expect him to lie so blatantly than accuse the President of lying. He's been studying countering everything Romneys been saying the past 6 months, than a different person shows up to the debate.
