Here's why the media seems to think Romney won the debate, and it should be familiar to all of us.

Expectations of Romney were so low that as soon as the 90 minutes were up and he had managed to not actually shit his pants on stage, POW, he was the winner.

Remind you of another prominent Republican presidential candidate's treatment by the media in the recent past?

He can't whine if Obama creams him in the next 2 - because he "won" the first one.

Mitt Romney looked better in this debate because he was expected to do horribly. I thought the debate stunk and neither candidate really did anything to push the polls either way.

need to shift gears for the next two debates. They didn't want to hammer Rmoney on the 47% or use zingers. They approached it more from an academic lecturer point of view and it fell flat.

Obama has to be more forceful when he calls out Rmoney.
