Maybe you just don't realize how smart Obama is

Case in point. Romney has been practicing for months and months.

If Obama had brought up any of the Romney crazy talk/47% stuff - he would be opening the door for Romney to
throw out his well prepared and practiced rebuttal.

Also, leaving Romney unchallenged - to ramble, it created a gold mine of flip-floppy-ness that the press can
talk about for the next week.

for that reaction. Obama didn't give it to him. He remained cool, calm, and presidential.

while Rmoney was more aggressive, he stepped all over his own talking points. It was all "I am not running on that". He more or less denied everything he has been saying, to include all of a sudden how he cares for the poor and will see that they are not harmed. He will spend more money on schools, get more grants to students, spend much more on defense, keep taxes the same, and reduce the deficit.

Magically he will do this by giving the "job creators" not one red cent of tax cuts, he will just lower their rates, but eliminate their deductions so it all comes out the same..... Try as you might, sense cannot be made of it, not even from a conservative frame.

5. Totally agree that bringing up the 47% thing tonight would have been dumb

It looks like piling on, and Romney surely had a million planned comebacks.

Whether the strategy that unfolded was "smart," I suppose time will tell, but on that point I agree.

They were kind of scratching their heads over why everyone was wringing their hands over the fact that he didn't bring up the 47% thing. One of the panel pointed out that the video has been out for week now, and that people have already seen it a zillion times. It's nothing new to anyone.
