I don't want to get paranoid . . .

. . . so please don't help me get there. A few minutes ago, my cell phone, sitting on my desk, dialed, all by itself, without me even touching it, a phone number that is not of anyone I know. This creeps me out.

Anyone ever had that happen or have any knowledgeable idea why it might have done so?

It was bizarre and quite embarrassing. I'd type out a text, hit send and it'd send to another person ... not the contact it was meant for ... which left me in some bad situations when you text your aunt how horny you are.

I doubt it's the same thing, tho. This was apparently a bug ... but it could just be a bug.

It happened to me last year. I was reading on my laptop when my phone suddenly lit up and started dialing India. The guy in the apartment next to me hacked into my bluetooth.

I wiped and reloaded my phone and my laptop and turned off bluetooth, I only use it with my headset now in my car.

My friend had strange things happening with her phone and found that someone had hacked her account. They changed her social security number and password through the website for Verizon. She had never even used their website. They had signed up for every feature available.
They fixed it once and now she is still having problems.

It's probably just a bug. If it's a smart phone, it may have something like a virus or have been hacked, but that's less likely than an electronics failure. Take it in to the phone people.
