Republicans are making noise about this being a game changer, similar to the Hostage Crisis for Carter. My sense is that if two weeks have passed and there's no corresponding dip in the polls, the noise is just that-noise. That is, unless there is some obscure information that will come out that will embarrass the President.
Honestly, what are DU's collective thoughts on the attack and how it will (or won't) affect the election dynamics?

The ambassador didn't handle things perfectly, but on the other hand Romney shot off his mouth and was caught in a big lie, and looked really unpatriotic. If anyone suffers, it would be Romney more than Obama.

(16,916 posts)He added that they planned to release what they hoped would be a bombshell that would make Libya and Obamas foreign policy a major issue in the campaign. My understanding is that they have come up with evidence that the Obama administration had positive intelligence that there was going to be a terrorist attack on the intelligence.

A new Washington Post poll conducted Sept. 26-29 found that Obama has a 14 point lead over Romney on which candidate Americans trust more to do a better job handling terrorism and a five point edge on trust in handling international affairs.
