The city's animal shelter is asking for the community's assistance to raise money for two dogs injured in a crash on Interstate 26 a few weeks ago.

The accident happened after the family had driven three-and-a-half days to see a family member's graduation from Fort Jackson.

Their three dogs were seen running away from the scene just after the crash. One of the dogs was found deceased, but Junior and Leo were found with lacerations and broken bones.
