(34,661 posts)wages are actually very competitive here in the USA. The workers of America have taken it in the shorts for years. Look at monetary exchange rates, adjusted for inflation, and it makes more sense to to make things here. What is the big picture, millions of folks needing jobs because we are a Consumer driven nation, companies are discriminating against long term unemployed persons, and, when you have abundance of limited skill set persons,it makes sense to do OJT(on the job training),using fed and or state dollars in order to get folks to more productive consumer. Factory workers pay generally uses a multiplier affect of seven times. Were spending on Military turns only one.
Said this before, the 1%ers are scared shittless of the working class, typical cycle of people money and politics. Look only to what is going on in Europe in the last couple of years. Austerity or transfer of wealth to the 1%ers isn't getting it done. The workers finally are taking control of their countries and kicking out the Oligarchs. The same is just starting here, and the for profit companies are seeing this and will do what is necessary to prevent any disruption to their bottom line. We are in changing times that will only make us a better nation. May not accure in this election cycle, but by 2014 the Rethugs will be toast for many generations.
